It is crucial to know how EoC came about.

EOC is something that I strongly support. It's incredible how games and technology are always improving. If you look back 13 years ago, when the game was first launched, consider the advancements in technology and gaming over the past thirteen years.

Imagine how many players from Runescape have been have left to play other MMORPGs with a similar action bar system. It's true, World of Warcraft. While I'm not saying that runescape should be more like WOW, but most moos follow EOC-style HCI. What is the reason this is the case for 99% of moos?

Because it is effective. The runescape, both from an economic and game perspective, would not survive without updates. Jagex is, at the end of it all, a company that must pay workers and make profit. It would be quickly outpaced by its rivals if it didn't maintain the runescape.

It is essential to be able to keep pace and adaptable to change in every aspect of our lives. Technology is making this even more crucial. Although you might claim that humans are the dominant race due to changes in their environment, it is not the case.

I'm not sure how old you are but take a look back at the past 20 years - we, as tech-savvy users have had to change by using VCR to CD to DVD, and through the use of various interfacing devices (touchscreen is one of the most popular). The world of technology is where gaming suffers and adapting is crucial for the user. I'm sure that you'd prefer to have Runescape keep up to date with its competition and survive many more years - however, with a mindset that says "no major updates cos we don't like these" runescape is set to gradually die out.

EoC isn't the main issue. To me, it's just more clicking to get the same result The best part is the ability to store emotes in a queue. WoW is a game where I play with 80 odd keys, and there is a minigame involved in figuring out DPS enhancements or devising new strategies in PvP. Although I'm not a fan of the idea of controlling enemies' minds at the edge of cliffs, it's something I like.

It is crucial to know how EoC came about. The exact circumstances that led to its birth are the same as Solomon and SoF. It is imposed upon players. Recently, a Jmod wrote about a poster who had posted bugs in BA. This was great constructive feedback. Posters later noted that even though the bugs were all discovered and sent to Jagex, they still made the final cut.
