Axholme Landscapes make the whole landscaping process stress-free and enjoyable for the customer providing a bespoke, personal garden design and construction service.

Established in 1989, Axholme Landscapes is a family partnership comprising David and Peter Cooper with over 50 years combined experience in horticulture, garden design and landscaping.

They operate across North Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.

David studied for his National Diploma in Horticulture at Askham Bryan College from 1979 to 1982 and then gained design experience at Notcutts Landscapes in Norwich.

Peter gained his National Certificate in Horticulture from Askham Bryan College in 1987 and also studied for his National Diploma in Landscape Construction at Merrist Wood College from 1989 to 1992. He too gained practical landscaping experience at Notcutts Landscapes in Woodbridge, Suffolk and subsequently with Graduate Gardeners in Gloucestershire.

Axholme Landscapes make the whole landscaping process stress-free and enjoyable for the customer. The project begins with a design meeting to discover our brief.
We advise on the design based on the property and its environment and note any requirements specified by the customer. At the meeting we will show our portfolio of previous designs and give an estimated costing for the project under consideration.

Although any design work is charged separately to construction and planting, Axholme Landscapes offer a complete landscaping service.

The resulting continuity from design through construction and planting ensures that the customer has just one point of contact for progress reports and enquiries as the project moves forward.
The next stage is a detailed, measured site survey and then, following further discussions with the customer, a concept design, drawn to scale, is produced for approval. This design takes into account soil types, level of maintenance, colour schemes and any special requirements for the garden.

On acceptance by the customer a detailed costing is submitted.

Although the majority of our projects are for residential properties, Axholme Landscapes can undertake any job from a small front garden with driveway to a ten-acre site, commercial or domestic, and beyond.
Examples of past projects include contemporary town gardens, traditional cottage gardens and country house gardens.

Materials are selected to compliment the design and surroundings of the property and our qualified team of builders work efficiently and effectively to complete the project on time and with the minimum disruption.

We also offer site or garden clearance services including heavy pruning, hedge removal and tree-felling either as part of the preparation for a project or as a one-off clearance job.

The list of features that can be incorporated is almost endless and includes:
Paved areas e.g. courtyards/patios;
Timber work e.g. trellis, fencing, pergolas and decking;
Water features e.g. ponds, streams, bridges;
Outdoor lighting;
Driveways, paving, block paving, retaining walls, tar and rolled gravel;
Walling, rockeries and other stone construction;
Raised beds, raised vegetable plots and low-maintenance gardens for the less mobile or for busy couples.
All electrical work is carried out by fully qualified electricians who will provide outside power where required.

Plants are quite obviously an important factor in the look and feel of any finished garden and as such are a critical part of any design.

At Axholme Landscapes we prepare a detailed planting plan as part of the second design phase. This shows the plants to be used and their exact position within the overall design, taking into account their final dimensions and optimum growing position.

A plant schedule is also prepared to match the planting plan and this lists the required plants and details their size and price together with a pruning guide where applicable.

Axholme Landscapes can source and supply all types of plants from bulbs to herbaceous perennials, flowering shrubs to fruit trees.
We will advise on the care and maintenance of all plants provided and on any other aspects required where appropriate such as the use of hedges and trees for screening.

As well as the more obvious aspects of planting, we also provide gravel, bark chippings and other mulches according to the specific design.
